Northern Ballet's new biopic brings the sensational story of Victoria to life in dance.

Queen Victoria’s irrepressible love for Albert sparked a royal dynasty, but his untimely death brought the world’s most powerful woman to her knees with grief. Now, the amazing story of this incredible monarch is brought to life in a production that will be eagerly anticipated by fans of dance, romance and history.

Northern Ballet’s reputation for outstanding narrative works has been sealed by their sensational streak of award-winning and critically acclaimed productions. Choreographed by Cathy Marston (Jane Eyre), their latest creation Victoria reveals the life of one of history’s most intriguing women – a life so sensational that her daughter Beatrice tried to rewrite history.Retold 200 years after Victoria’s birth, this major new production features dramaturgy by Uzma Hameed (Wayne McGregor’s Woolf Works) and an original score by Philip Feeney (Jane Eyre).

This event is only open to those who have booked to attend the audio described performance

This interesting touch tour insight is a  fun and creative event that allows participants to explore movements and shapes from the production of Victoria, (by being close to the dancers) whilst gaining a greater understanding of classical ballet. The Touch Tour Insight will be delivered by the audio describer/s with support from Northern Ballet Dancers and Stage Management. Participants will also have the opportunity to listen to the score, handle props/costumes from the production and ask any questions they might have about the audio description.

Please note there is no need to have any previous dance experience– participants can enjoy the workshop from the comfort of their chair or the more energetic can partner up with one of our dancers and be guided through steps from the production.
