Bright Umbrella presents a modern retelling of one of the Bible’s most compelling stories - a tale for modern times.
Peter. A fisherman from a rural, seaside area. An ordinary man called to do extraordinary things. It is at Joppa where we meet him, waiting to set sail for new adventures, contemplating his recent past and his meetings with a man called Jesus. What did it all mean? And are the recent revelations about Jesus for everyone, or just for a select few?
With Glenn McGivern as Peter, directed by Trevor Gill, and animations by award-winning illustrator Fergus Wachala Kelly, David Campton's modern retelling is brought to life on stage.
Later this year Bright Umbrella steps out of The Sanctuary Theatre, East Belfast, as its home venue undergoes restoration and development work. During this time, the company will bring its shows exclusively to the Grand Opera House Studio.

“Peter may have lived two thousand years ago, but the modern-day setting… suggests a more universal and contemporary truth in Campton’s writing”
