This Sh*t Happens All The Time
Who we love shouldn’t come with a death threat. The Grand Opera House presents This Sh*t Happens All The Time.
A young woman falls in love. Her girlfriend’s jealous ex-boyfriend responds with murderous intent. Today he would be arrested but in 1990s Belfast, homophobic hate crime laws don’t exist.
This Sh*t Happens All the Time uses personal experience of misogyny, queer-baiting and coercive control to ask why the full protections granted to most of society remain a challenge for Northern Ireland’s LGBTQ+ community.
