Welcoming everyone since 1895!
The Grand Opera House, which has been welcoming theatregoers since 1895, last year won the Most Welcoming Theatre in Northern Ireland. With your help the Theatre can hold onto its title and even go one step further by winning the overall title of Most Welcoming Theatre in the UK. Online voting for the prestigious award, which is hosted by UK Theatre, is now open and the public has until noon on Tuesday 18 September 2018 to vote. Votes can be cast on the UK Theatre Website, choosing ‘Grand Opera House’ from the Northern Ireland region.
Ian Wilson, chief executive of the Grand Opera House, said:
“In 1895 the most renowned theatre architect of the era, Frank Matcham, bestowed on Belfast one of his most imaginative and opulent creations, and the Grand Opera House has welcomed millions of people ever since.
“Last year the Theatre was awarded the title of ‘Northern Ireland’s Most Welcoming Theatre’ and this year, with your support, we would be delighted to not only retain that title but also be crowned the UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre 2018.
“We are very proud of the welcome we offer theatregoers, visitors and tourists, and visiting companies, and strive to deliver outstanding customer service to the 290,000 people who pass through the Grand Opera House’s doors each year.
“Voting is simple and takes less than a minute, so please follow the link and vote for your Grand Opera House. Your support is greatly appreciated by everyone at the Theatre. Thank you.”
