Become a Platinum Friend of the Grand Opera House, and we will acknowledge your support in our Season Brochure, give you 2 pairs of complimentary tickets (from a wide range of shows) upon joining and renewing and provide you with complimentary tea and coffee during the interval. You won't pay booking fees and you will receive an exclusive Friends of the Grand Opera House Lapel Pin.

Terms & Conditions

Memberships are available for one or two year periods, allowing you to book for a wide range of shows in our programme.

Where discounts apply they are redeemable during your membership period only. To avail of discounts beyond your current membership period simply renew your Friends Membership in advance; don’t worry, your new membership won’t apply until your current one has expired. For some friends events a charge will apply.

The Actors Choice-Play Readings

Thursday 25 May 2PM - 4PM

Tea/Coffee will be served from 2pm and performance commences 2.30pm.

The Actors Choice is a series of play readings by professional and semi-professional actors. For this event in May we have the actress Pauline Carville and her troupe of actors reading exerts from the plays Blood Brothers and California Suite. The readings will commence with a short introduction from Pauline and there will be lots of opportunity to ask questions between plays and at the end of the event.

The Actors

Pauline Carville trained as an actor at the Royal Conservatoire Scotland and graduated as a singer and singing teacher from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music.

The Plays

Willy Russell Blood Brothers: This is the non-musical play version of the hugely successful musical. 

Neil Simon California Suite: This hilarious comedy focuses on the misadventure of 4 groups of guests staying at the Beverley Hills Hotel.
