We are currently recruiting: Head of Technical Services (Permanent) £35,000 + Pension + Benefits

Responsible To: Chief Executive and Grand Opera House Trustees

Responsible For: performance technical staff, buildings and maintenance staff, external contractors within the Grand Opera House back of house areas.

Liaises with: All Grand Opera House Personnel/Visiting Production Companies/Contractors /Suppliers/Patrons/Sponsors/Trustees

Purpose: The Head of Technical Services will lead on the day-to-day maintenance of the building; managing contracts and suppliers of services and developing policies for sustainability, energy efficiency, recycling and conservation. The post holder will be responsible for the management of all performance technical staff, buildings and maintenance staff, external contractors within the Grand Opera House back of house areas. The post holder will also be responsible for budget control and stock and equipment management within these departments. A key responsibility will be the monitoring and maintenance of the existing best practice health and safety procedures, particularly back stage.

Purpose: The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for managing, developing and delivering a professional, confidential and effective human resource function. The Human Resources Manager is a member of the extended Executive team.
